Pebble Tec Pool Finishes in Orlando, FL

Florida's Largest Pebble Tec Applicator

Pebble Tec is a pool finish made of small natural pebbles set in cement, and it is one of the most durable, best-looking surfaces you can put in a pool. Classic Marcite is the largest Pebble Tec applicator in Florida, and we have been resurfacing pools from our Orlando office since 1988.

We install the full family of pebble finishes: Pebble Tec, the smoother Pebble Sheen and the finest Pebble Fina, plus Beadcrete. Installing a pebble finish without the manufacturer's certification can void its product warranty, so the installer matters as much as the finish.

Pebble Tec, Pebble Sheen or Pebble Fina?

All three are pebble finishes; the difference is the size of the stone and how the surface feels underfoot. Pebble Tec has the classic textured look, Pebble Sheen uses smaller pebbles for a smoother feel, and Pebble Fina is the smoothest of the three. Color changes the water too: lighter finishes give a bright aqua, darker ones a deep blue.

We bring samples to your estimate so you can see the colors in Florida sun, next to your tile and deck.

  • Pebble Tec: natural pebbles, textured, the most rugged look
  • Pebble Sheen: smaller pebbles, smoother underfoot
  • Pebble Fina: the finest pebbles, the smoothest pebble finish
  • Beadcrete: glass beads and quartz for a shimmering finish

How We Apply a Pebble Finish

Our own crews do the work from start to finish; we don't subcontract it. A typical resurfacing goes like this:

  1. Drain and prepare. The pool is drained and the old surface is chipped or ground back so the new finish bonds to sound material
  2. Repair. Cracks and hollow spots are repaired and tile or fittings are replaced if needed
  3. Apply the pebble finish. The crew trowels the pebble mix onto every wall, floor and step in one continuous application
  4. Expose the pebbles. The top cement is washed back to reveal the pebbles at an even depth
  5. Fill and start up. The pool is refilled and the water is balanced carefully while the new finish cures

Pebble Tec Questions

Why choose a pebble finish over plaster?

Pebble finishes are made mostly of stone, so they resist staining and wear better than plain plaster in Florida's heat and year-round swimming. Plaster costs less up front; we can price both so you can compare.

Is Pebble Tec rough on feet?

Standard Pebble Tec has texture. If you want a smoother feel, Pebble Sheen and Pebble Fina use smaller pebbles. We'll show you samples to touch at your estimate.

Can you put Pebble Tec over my old plaster?

Yes, after the old surface is prepared so the new finish bonds properly. We check the condition of the shell first and repair cracks or hollow areas before applying it.
