Pool Crack Repair in Orlando, FL

Cracks Are a Warning Sign

Concrete pools move a little with the ground, the heat and the weight of the water. Small cracks in the finish are common; deeper cracks can let water out and grow over time. Either way, the right repair depends on how deep the crack goes.

Classic Marcite repairs cracks in concrete pools across the Orlando area, usually as part of a resurfacing so the repair is hidden under a new finish.

Types of Pool Cracks

  • Surface (craze) cracks: fine lines in the plaster or finish only
  • Structural cracks: through the shell, often with water loss
  • Cracks at the tile line or bond beam, where the pool meets the deck
  • Cracks around steps, benches, lights and fittings

How We Repair Cracks

  1. Find. We inspect the crack and check whether the pool is losing water
  2. Open and clean. The crack is cut out and cleaned so the repair material bonds
  3. Repair. The crack is filled and sealed with the right material for its depth
  4. Resurface. The area, or the whole pool, gets a new finish over the repair

Crack Repair Questions

Are fine cracks in the plaster a problem?

Usually not structurally, but they can trap dirt and grow rough. They are normally repaired when the pool is resurfaced.

Is my pool leaking through a crack?

If the water level drops faster than evaporation, a crack, fitting or line may be leaking. See leak detection and repair.

Can a cracked pool be resurfaced?

Yes. Cracks are repaired first so the new finish goes over sound material.
